Talking Pictures are showing this on Sunday 8th at 13.25, the next programme starting at 15.10. I believe that the DVD of this was cut. Anyone know if TP's version is complete?

If the DVD is an old issue the film may have been scanned on an old scanner running at 25fps(instead of 24fps) which IIRC would have produced a 4% reduction in running time.

4% off 87 minutes is just under 84.

IMDB's Goof is that "The wild car journey is split into two parts, apparently a reel is in the wrong order." which doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. It's a complaint repeated in a popular Amazon review.

The UK DVD is PAL format and therefore 25fps irrespective of how fast the film was scanned or originally projected and irrespective of how old the DVD is. PAL speed up on about 85 minutes gives about 82 minutes. I can't find any reference to cuts other than this thread, so I'll need something specific to be convinced. There are, however, lots of references to the film being cropped to 4:3 and reels being in the wrong order, both on the DVD and as previously shown on Talking Pictures; e.g. a couple of posts here www.britmovie.co.uk/forum/living-room/british-television/1747-freeview-talking-pictures/page4 have some specifics.
