The North Staffordshire Sentinel records, though not online, the death of Celia Rowley, a mezzo-soprano "whose repertoire covered the classics, the musical shows, and the latest pop songs". I can't find anything on IMDB, although it says "She appeared on TV on five occassions-including the inaugural broadcast of Opportunity Knocks in 1956". Might the first two entries on Genome, one for TV, one for radio, be her? genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/search/0/20?q=celia+rowley#top

Ah. No, it's quite confusing, because there were one or two more Celia Rowleys involved in music/TV.
The Opp. Knocks one died on May 18th, aged 87.
