Firstly a recap, in case any members of this Forum have no idea what I'm on about:- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L!VE_TV You'll note the archive was sold in 2013. The company that bought it was dissolved in 2020. As of today, I have managed to contact the current rights holder and I've established he has possession of the archive. I have no further information that I can pass on at this point. (the idea to investigate this all came from a Personal Message on the Forum; this is the first time I've ever been asked to try and track down an entire Channel's Archive!!!!!)

In the mid 2000's there were DOZENS of barely remembered small channels launched on digital satellite in the hope of making a fortune with them. Most of the channels were woefully underfunded and didnt last very long. (At least one channel launched onto Sky Digital & lasted less than a month!)
Id hazard a guess the archives of most if not all of these channels have been destroyed.

This is something I plan to look into as although many of these satellite channels aren't always fondly remembered - in fact some aren't remembered at all! - but nonetheless their programming needs to be preserved if at all possible.

Do we REALLY need more than a couple of representative programe segments from Mobile Crazy TV / Auction World TV (closed down by Ofcom for dodgy selling!) / Vectone Tamil / any one of the hundreds of other channels that have fallen by the wayside? Fill your boots with long forgotten channels - even Ive forgotten about some of these & Im a long time satellite tv enthusiast.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_former_TV_channels_in_the_United_Kingdom

In some cases a couple of “representative programme segments” might be all that survives.
The aim should, I suggest, be to get a “flavour” of the channel. What was the ident and any graphics like? Did they have on screen presenters, etc, etc?

Ross and John, I basically agree.
A representative segment or two would be great.
I would expect there would be very little that survives anyway from a number of these channels.

It’s the sort of thing that could make an interesting segment at MBW.

Anyone archiving Aljazeera or even RT (as was)?

What was that channel that was co-presented by Paul Lavers and any empty segments were filled with their seemingly one and only camera pointing at the computer monitor screen showing a still ident with a mouse pointer left in view over the top of it? Something like Happy TV or similar?

I saved an awful lot of Price Drop/Bid Up TV for a while because I found the banter more entertaining than "proper" TV at the time, especially when "Greggles" was on.

Are the BSB archives intact? I recall Suggs (of Madness) having his own show, where he interviewed such people as Lee Brilleaux (Dr. Feelgood) and Mark E. Smith (The Fall), as well as played music videos.

It was a lot more until the last few years, when a number of people started finding things (this does include me, yes, but I wasn't the first or the most prolific by any means). One of the things to remember with BSB is it was a group of channels including Galaxy, Now and the Power Station.

Thank you Ray.
I do have a nice clear recording of Jerry Lee Lewis live at Wembley Arena in 1990 (exclusive BSB broadcast) if that is any use? Possibly other things too.
