Announced by Kaleidoscope. (Though I found it on The M.C. the-mausoleum-club.org.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4323 ). Series 5, episodes 9 and 10. I've just been watching the series for the first time in more than half a century, so I'm especially pleased. It's in the Stars 28/2/1966. With John Inman, Felix Bowness, and Gretchen Franklin ! Huntin', Shootin' and Fishin'. 7/3/1966. With Wendy Richard and Fred Emney! With the rediscovered Hugh and I Spy episode, that makes three that could go on a future Terry Scott release...

Interesting to note that there’s two. Now, I hear y’all not asking, why should two be significant?
Well, those who frequent the DW board - and suffer from advanced masochism - will, or may, recall my penchant for comparing DW MEs to Krynoid pods, they travel in pairs. It’s clear that some DW MEs returned from Australia in the mid 70s were “acquired” from the destruction pile and ended up with collectors - but often in pairs. That suggested to me that there was a magpie with a bag, briefcase, etc that could comfortably take a couple of 16mm cans.
This recovery suggests a similar modus operandi, possibly even the same magpie. The “rights” to the programmes had run out, everyone was moving to colour, so the prints were marked for destruction until light fingered Larry - to whom we’re all now eternally grateful - walked past the pile….
I wonder if the dates as to when the programmes could no longer be sold could be established?
