Film needs to be stored somewhere with temperature control. There are other costs to maintain such a facility - electricity, insurance, rent, staff and admin. Very few TV stations today have such facilities to store and preserve their own stuff, let alone bother with any foreign stuff they might have but can't legally use.
ETA: 'Tomb' being found in HK was likely in the clean-up following the 1987 fire. The stuff in Jos was kept because it was in a remote relay admin building rather than at an actual TV station.

If it happened to say British then a query asking about British stuff should find it. A query? Let me refresh your memory a bit: Is this SQL or some kind of hybrid database...?

All PM needs to do is (bar COVID protocol's) book a ticket to Bangkok and then after proper credentialing visit the TV station, find out they dont have and old film prints lying around and then go and spend the next two weeks exploring Pattia Beach, he will have a wonderful time exploring the clubs and bars. I know I did

Robert, so you got a "no"? I tried too, but in the end once I had the correct channel (they effectively switched names over the years) I eventually just never heard from them again. A query? Let me refresh your memory a bit: Is this SQL or some kind of hybrid database...? This reminds me of the filing system we had in our high school library in the 1970's Remember the Sherlock Holmes clips that someone found about a year ago? The catalogue was online but it still showed OCR errors from the scanned index cards. It might say for example "Sheriook hoime5" (I'm exaggerating there but you get the idea). It's not that far behind us...

I'd like to know more about Thailand, personally. I’m pretty sure that the Thai prints were junked or returned because Thailand's prints came from Hong Kong and the print of Reign of Terror 1 that turned up on eBay nearly ten years ago was likely of Hong Kong origin, and thus the print sent to Thailand. Again, if one episode turned up, that may mean more are doing the rounds with private collectors. Lot of conjecture there. How was it broadcast in Thailand. Dubbed? By who? Where did the audio recordings go?

It's nice to see people being objective and having an open mind given the difficult situation.

I think at this point it's unlikely anything is going to turn up from former broadcasters.

We know that PM has been to over fifty countries - but the queue of those volunteering to go to Iran is non existent! Well dare I say it (and no doubt this will upset people) but 1) We don't to be fair know who is or is not queuing. 2) I could state that for instance I know someone in Iran who may be in a position to help. It is worth pointing out again in general terms that negative comments about a country are unhelpful to such a prospect and indeed to the prospect of searching countries which might feel they are held in disrespect by Britain and America. 3) To reiterate, there is no real issue (apart from visas for British and Americans) with visiting Iran. Indeed 40000 British tourists visited Iran in 2019. The only people who have problems in Iran are a) Certain dual nationals who are regarded as Iranian given that Iran does not recognize dual citizenship. b) People who work for such and such government agency. 4) Iran is a country which wants to trade with the world but which is subject to sanctions. 5) There is however the small issue of the 400 million pounds which the government there is owed by the British government which may or may not be resolved soon.

I think at this point it's unlikely anything is going to turn up from former broadcasters. That's funny. There has been a recovery from the BFI whıch admittedly isn't a broadcaster but acts as a sort of national archive.
