I’m not surprised, it’s something we’ve discussed on a number of occasions and it’s the only Dalek story left. I think the chances of more episodes being found are minimal - although not impossible. it would also facilitate a Blu-ray box set of the second half of Season 4.

Is a small clip so hard to tell how they will handle movement, but I'm looking forward to seeing it

Nice clip. Second Doctor's likeness looks okay - not brilliant but acceptably done. Jamie not as good but could be worse. Waterfield's likeness looks very good. Overall style looks very good (though will also depend on movement, as George D says above). I assume it'll include a monochrome version. Great to hear episode 2 has been remastered (unlike Faceless Ones 1 & 3 on blu ray which had no further restoration done) - as episode 2 of Evil is my all-time most favourite Who episode!

It’s a very good episode but it’s very much of its time. How much does the plot advance over the course of 25 minutes? Not very much…..

Now that’s more like it! Makes the utterly useless, half hearted attempt to animate Web of Fear 3 all the more frustrating & annoying.

Damn, just started a new thread about this, the board didn't update on my tablet! Maybe I'll get in first when the masterplan animation is announced 😉

Whilst I'm looking forward to seeing it ,evil has never been one of my favourite Dalek stories ,a fun first few episodes in modern day London and the last 2 on Skaro are great ,but the middle part set in the house doesn't really do it for me and drags like hell !!

As I pointed out above, Episode 2 is enjoyable - but the plot barely advances. It’s not until the end of that, second, episode that the Doctor and Jamie learn who they’re up against, that’s almost a third of the way through - it’s similar in the Invasion. A few years later it would’ve been a four parter.

Hugely atmospheric on audio,it will be a pleasure to sees visuals alongside it and in colour which I love. The Web animation is a special case in my opinion. How do you give the fans an animation of an episode which actually existed when it was found and was then stolen? The smooth-motion,rotoscoping method is justified to compensate for it.I really like it.Yes,it could be done a whole lot better but until such time the real thing is recovered ( and it's still likely as PM says the animation is simply a BBC business decision, nothing to do with his on-going search ),this is probably the best visual representation on which to hang the re-mastered audio and satisfactorily (for now?) complete the serial.

I pretty much agree with what you are saying Jaz, although I feel differently about the end result. I’m still convinced that the reason for Web 3 being done this way is cost vs potential for recovery, unfortunately as I really don’t like the presentation, I won’t be buying it as it doesn’t have enough value added for me which is a real shame as it’s my favourite serial.

Now Evil on the other hand looks excellent. I’m lucky enough to be able to remember watching it first time around although not in great detail. Can’t wait to see the animated version.
