You know I would have agreed with you 30 years ago but it’s got to the point where I don’t even notice them any more.

30 years ago they could have a purpose as you could tell if something was recorded of off a channel. These days you can almost get rid of the log (Called DOGS) in the industry)
All TV channels are watched via a branded EPG now and the DOG can be removed by masking. The beer logo on Sky channels for pubs is just for the human inspector. These days the broadcast contains a digital watermark. I know about this stuff.
As a cat lover I hate dogs anyway.

But Richard, that's exactly how "their" minds work; that's the way they want you to think - eventually, they think they'll wear the viewer down.... Not me. I simply don't watch programmes with logos, they're just irritating.

Yet on another thread you were saying how impressed you are with Cliff Richard's youtube channel - which has a great big bl**dy signature across every video! If I had to choose with watching rare footage with logos or not seeing them at all, then I know what my choice would be.

Peter, with your knowledge and experience, I'm very surprised to see your comment. I suggest you try downloading one of the Cliff videos. Once downloaded, the screen is 100% clear!

Don't we all hate Digital On-screen Graphics. As for canines we seem to get on OK.

Some channels even have pop ups to tell you what you’re watching! About the best is probably TPTV - completely clean programming and their logo ain’t too intrusive. I think ALL logos are intrusive to the point where I don't watch the programme. I would probably watch a lot of Talking Pictures stuff if only they'd get rid of the logo - or at least put it out of the picture when 4x3 material is running (which is probably most of the time on that channel). After all, we like to see classic programmes as they looked at the time - and that did not include logos stuck on the screen like someone had forgotten to remove the price tag. I feel the same. A logo greatly reduces the experience. Also I dislike the low bitrate used on some DVD releases. 175 minutes on some discs from Network. I would rather watch VHS.

With early Network releases it wasn't only bitrate but the encoding program that caused low quality.
