You'll need to elaborate on that. You think it was almost there but missing something essential?

You'll need to elaborate on that. You think it was almost there but missing something essential? The 'BBC look' we accepted at the time but to an international buyer (despite all the show's plus points) I would suspect it would have looked cheap and tatty with all cross mixing of electronic and film camera set ups, and probably looks cheap and tatty to a 'new' audience today too. Just saying The Saint remains enduring because they shot it properly in the first place..and don't get me wrong I loved Adam Adamant at the time (especially Juliet Harmer LOL)..

I thought I would take advantage of this thread being open to post a cry for help. Admins - I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this...
I had recently been throughly enjoying a long overdue rewatch of this marvellous boxset when tragedy struck. Despite being perfectly fine 24 hours earlier, when I came to play 'D For Destruction' on Disc 4 earlier this week I found the disc itself had cracked and was unplayable. I can only think it must have happened when I was replacing it back on its spindle the day before.
Does anyone on here have an unwanted copy of the boxset that they're interested in selling for a reasonable price? Or know where I could pick one up without breaking the bank?

I was wondering if it was exported, considering how popular similar shows were at the time.

I was wondering if it was exported, considering how popular similar shows were at the time. Well I assumed that it was shown in Holland as my DVD box set was a Dutch copy (if I remember correctly). I know it doesn’t follow but seems more likely to sell in a country which broadcast it before.

That explains why the Dutch copy that I bought was in the shop for years, until I saw it in the discount bin for 4 quid 35. It doesn't have all of the extra's, though. Still, perhaps Paul W has a surplus bonus disc now?
