Good to hear Season 9 is getting the Blu-ray treatment! And nice to see Katy Manning doing some new business, but these promo trailers seem to be a complete waste of budget – I'm constantly irked, especially, that the so-called writer/director always gets a whopping credit at the very beginning. It's not about him for goodness sake! They’re presented as mini episodes, and accordingly they have writer/director credits as a full episode would. Not sure why this irks you. In terms of being a waste of budget, the whole point of these is to engage potential buyers and show the set off as well as possible, which they do extremely well, IMO. I don't buy the season sets nor the animations. I'm perfectly happy with my DVD collection and Loose Cannon reconstructions (which I much prefer to the animations, but to each their own). However, I must admit I love the BluRay season trailers. If there was a release just of those I'd buy it -- just love seeing those characters again. Dare I say it? The best 'new Who' being made!

They do come on the collection boxset as a special feature. It is worth getting them especially for the enhanced visuals. They look so good.

The Dalek Invasion Of Earth. Ep 5 didn't have the optical sound which wasn't the finished mix oh well wouldn't have been nice ti hear the difference. Ep 4 still sounds much fresher on VHS than the dvd and now the blu ray which now sound more filmy now but tolerable, grab the vhs and prove me wrong. I won't complain as I've copied it. It says the the blu ray has an exclusive enchand audio mix but to me it sounded no different and i used headphones. Am I wrong.
Otherwise a good set, I'm up to the trivial track of the above so still a bit to go. Willam Russells interview was pretty good despite his Dementia and physically looks pretty good for his 90s.

Now I noticed it: the modulation to make them more gratier. It's almost the same when you hear it the first time around. Shame they originally they didn't notice in ep 6 when the Daleks brain is getting fried how more it effective it could actually sound rather than the single human tone.

Working my way through the special features on season 9(I always do before watching the actual serials) and ice spotted that both the sea devil's and Curse of peladon have the dvd versions of some episodes as special features. A quick Google has told me reverse standard conversion. What I'm wondering if anyone can help tell me is what have they done to the versions that are just on the blu ray as normal. Is it a new process that's considered better than reverse standard conversion? Have better copies of these episodes turned up. Any info I'd love to know.

Time Monster has DVD. episodes 1 to 5 on the second disc. Thanks for asking the question 👍
