Season 9 next. Think Time monster and sea devil's are the only ones out of this set that would of needed any real restoration from a ME prospective Certainly the prospect of seeing TomTIT*, Ingrid Pitt’s prodigious cleavage, a Rick James’ acting masterclass (The Mutants) and David Troughton sporting kink boots (Curse of Peladon) in glorious(ly upscaled) HD is welcome indeed. Still hoping the long in development/delayed Season 20 is finally released into the wild soon though. * seriously, they could’ve chosen any technobabble acronym for The Master’s MacGuffin contraption… and yet still they chose something with ‘TIT’ in it. Incredible.

“ All episodes have been newly remastered from the best available sources – these classic adventures have never looked or sounded so good on home media.”

Good to hear Season 9 is getting the Blu-ray treatment! And nice to see Katy Manning doing some new business, but these promo trailers seem to be a complete waste of budget – I'm constantly irked, especially, that the so-called writer/director always gets a whopping credit at the very beginning. It's not about him for goodness sake!

Interesting to see how better the blu ray of The Curse Of Peladon will be better than the dvd restoration (which was good).

Looks to be a 20th March release date from the rumours I’ve seen and this seems backed up by the BFI announcing on Twitter they are showing a story from the set on Saturday 4th March. That’s always a good sign it’s out soon after!

Incredible.I feel season 20 will land this year. And it wouldn't shock me if it comes close to the 60th anniversary. Season 1 would also make sense in that slot but I would be surprised if they did another 60's so soon after Season 2 and I really so hope they find a way to do something with Marco polo prior to that release. The big 20th celebration box set coming out to mark its 40th Anniversay and the shows 60th would make a lot of sense and would be very marketable. They also tend to hop around the eras of the doctor a fair bit. So with us getting an early 70's release now getting a late 70's Tom (like Season 16) in late summer early autumn would make sense and then an 80's one around winter for the Anniversary makes logical sense to me

It's not about him for goodness sake! couldn't disagree louder with this. Not only would it of been a fairly minimal cost but it's a great way to do the rounds on social media and get people's attention.but I also thought the tribute to Stewart Bevan was lovely. As was the not yo the Sarah Jane adventures. The only thing I may have enjoyed more would of been David Troughton in character looking old but with a child princess Thalira on his jnee telling her about the doctor but that's because I adore David Troughton.

It's not about him for goodness sake! They’re presented as mini episodes, and accordingly they have writer/director credits as a full episode would. Not sure why this irks you. In terms of being a waste of budget, the whole point of these is to engage potential buyers and show the set off as well as possible, which they do extremely well, IMO.

Considering the Beeb had previously had a policy of announcing ‘Collection titles without disclosing the release date until months later it perhaps isn’t surprising a few of us missed this! Still, hopefully they’ll now continue to confirm release dates as sets are announced as it’ll help those of us of a more ‘budget-conscious‘ disposition, well, budget accordingly…
