Looks like season 22 is the next set to be released (March 14th if a overseas retailers website is to be belived ) with Seasons 2 and 9 also rumoured to be on the way in 2022 Season 9 shouldn’t be too difficult. Imho the picture quality is pretty good throughout although a little bit more DNR on a couple of the Sea Devils episodes - those converted from NTSC - would be nice. Season 2 has the problem of the Crusades - about which I’ve just posted on the Shada thread.

Looks like season 22 is the next set to be released (March 14th if a overseas retailers website is to be belived ) with Seasons 2 and 9 also rumoured to be on the way in 2022 Heh, perhaps Season 22 will afford yet another opportunity for Ian Levine and Eric Saward (or indeed the mysterious Paula Woolsey) to duke it out over authorship of Attack of the Cybermen! Keeping with Attack’ though I hope it’s that serial that’s afforded the ubiquitous CGI treatment as, after watching it again the other day, I was reminded how distractingly shabby and cheap it all looks (a far cry from Earthshock). Quite remarkable that a season opener can look so bad when most of the season’s budget would’ve been unspent at that point. That said, not sure CGI could really do much to improve ramshackle sets and poor models… Season 2 is an exciting proposition, though I hope they find a better solution to The Crusades than just an enhanced telesnap reconstruction of the missing episodes if full animation really isn’t financially viable at this time. Still, all good though!

Yep, agree with both of your comments on Season 2 John & Matt. Fingers crossed we get it one day, along with Marco Polo.
Amazing that of the 26 stories with missing episodes, we will have reached the half way point with 13 of these animated after TAS is released, plus there is a very good recreation for Mission to the Unknown to sort of make it 14 from 26 if it's allowed to be used on the collection sets.
Really hope these continue to be made and released - lot of worried comments on various sites about the funding from the US dropping away and maybe putting them in doubt. Be great to know if other ones are being worked on over and above The Abominable Snowman - don't need to know names, just a bit comfort knowledge that others are in the pipeline!

If things keep selling more will follow. I can see Seasons 1, 2, 5 and 6 being completed. Season 4 is more difficult, someone has to bite the bullet wrt the Smugglers and Highlanders and Season 3 probably requires a lottery win!

Based on everything we've heard, I'm fairly confident we'll see Season 4 completed before The Crusade (it will probably happen eventually, just that The Smugglers and The Highlanders seem like more reasonable projects by comparison, especially now with the mo-cap tech as an option, let the computer draw all that tartan for you).
What I'm curious about is what happens when we look towards 2023. I'm personally hoping for a complete Season 5 rather than an incomplete Season 1 (although I would be very happy if the Americans were willing to splash the cash on Marco Polo).

Interesting. What would help, although we’re unlikely to ever get it, are the costs for various things. Those b&w seasons are so close to completion.

I'm not sure if there is anyone involved in the Collection sets here (or where the best place to ask) but I found these on some old tapes I'm wondering if they have any interest? "New look for Saturdays on BBC1" trailer broadcast on 1/1/1970 between The Main News and Sinatra Genome link. Audio only, it's a rundown of the saturday night schedule from DW to Vanity Fair. Part of Movie-Go-Round broadcast on 9/5/1965 Genome link. Only the first few minutes, including a disagreement between the announcer and a dalek, but unfortunately doesn't have the "Daleks invade Shepperton" segment.

Back t’mill 👍
Thinking about Seasons - other than b&w - what about Seven?
I’ve just had a quick review - I watched the stories 👍
Spearhead has had the BluRay treatment, although I’ve still got the DVD version.
Silurians has been “processed” several times and the picture quality is generally excellent although bits of the film are iffy.
Inferno has had the SE treatment and apart from a few iffy bits of film is, again, generally excellent.
Ambassadors has Episode 1 from the original 2” VT while the other six have been Colour Recovered, the results of which are actually very good although, again, the film sequences can be iffy. My only comment on the studio sessions is that I think the colour might benefit from a wee bit more saturation.
Putting the colour back into film sequences, by whatever method, seems to generally give worse results than VT. I’m not sure exactly why, although I’m happy to be informed 👍 I suspect it might be partly because the film had to be transferred to VT and then telerecorded. It’s also noticeable that the results are better when the camera isn’t moving/panning.
Overall, though, the stories are very watchable 👍 Ambassadors was the weakest picture quality - but only with something to compare with.
In terms of what would go on a BluRay set…. There’s scope for several more “Then and Now” featurettes and of course “Behind the Sofa”.
I’d certainly buy a Season Seven BluRay 👍

I wonder if the film inserts are suffering from the old problem of "out of phase telecine/film recorder" that the film recorder print is containing picture from two original film frames.

I think from memory Ambassadors was the one story proving to be trickiest to get into BluRay format owing to the way it was originally restored, but my memory might be faulty on that one. Some cracking stories in that season - and I have always been a big fan of the pre and post regeneration stories (well, Twin Dilemma aside....), so that's why I was so hopeful Space Pirates would be animated to get us a full season 6 set. Fingers crossed we get some hopeful news there in the future. And slightly off topic, as part of the centenary celebrations for the BBC, The One Show is doing a poll on your favourite show. ….and now up for pre order on Amazon. As for the trailer, Michael Grade’s imperiously smug, smiling face perhaps wasn’t the best choice with which to promote the set! The set’s extras look superb as usual though I’m a little disappointed that Timelash is the story afforded the ubiquitous CGI FX treatment. Bloody Timelash! The other new feature that caught my eye was an audio commentary with Baker, Fielding and Gareth Jenkins for ‘A Fix With Sontarans’. Oh boy is that one going to be an exercise in awkwardness as they try to fondly reminisce whilst avoiding all mention of the show (and host) the segment originally featured on…
