Yeah, caution needed with the article from last August not coming to anything as yet. One person on Twitter made the interesting point that if it was true EOTD and TAS were being done, 1 or both might have been completed in that timescale and that they were waiting lockdown easing to do the extra feature documentaries. So (optimistic view here!) that could lead the animation house to move on to the next one, which is the relatively cheap Galaxy 4 with limited characters and costumes.
But until any official news comes through, this is just nice speculation of course.

Awful lot of optimism the Rhys. For me when web got announced and snowmen didn't it was an alarm bell.....I would have thought it would make sense to at least market them together with them being linked....and it would of made sense to show them together when they broadcast it. But snowmen is my next most wanted story to be animated after toy maker so I'd love it to be true. I just don't have any faith in anything printed in the mirror that isn't backed up elsewhere

I have my suspicions that somebody heard "Yeti" and got the wrong serial. Just like The Wheel in Space animation that never came to anything (I think they were planning to drop the Britbox recon out on DVD but it ultimately got cancelled).
It's entirely possible Galaxy 4 is coming out, and that we're hearing this because the animation team have moved on from The Web of Fear, but I think that's not looking good for The Abominable Snowmen's chances.

Ha ha! Yes, a little over optimistic maybe! Must be that Friday feeling!
At the time it made sense to hear about Web 3 relatively soon after this rumour of Evil and Abominable in late August - 2 Yeti stories done in one hit. But to never hear anything official after the rumour was very sad. Hope we get some good news confirmed soon.

Guess as someone said G4 is relatively cheap to animate
I think as it's been pointed out SL returned it's episodes in 74 and they weren't destroyed in civil war
Of course does not mean all were returned but that's clutching at straws
Guess that the Zambia/Barbados...Singapore prints were destroyed as well. Leaving a slim chance that the Australian prints of Myth were taken from the 75 returns or one of the G4 episodes
I think there is confusion around whether what was junked by the film libray were film inserts or the full episode Celestial 2
