I don’t recall that and hope I wasn’t one of your assailants and if I was please accept my apologies. No worries at all John and certainly no apology needed. It was all water off a ducks back at the time & anyway I can’t remember who it was. No finger pointing intended!

Back then there was a lot of finger pointing towards people who did not 100% support the omni rumor.

My personal choice would be Celestial Toymaker. I3t quite hard to choose because my first instinct would be to go for Massacre or The Myth Makers because despite multiple listenings I find them hard work. Almost impenetrable really. I'm doing a watchthrough with my girlfriend (we're up to The Chase currently) and I've got a recon of The Massacre I downloaded ages ago so perhaps it will change my opinion when we get to it. But Toymaker also would be a good Hartnell one for Auntie to test the water with because it's visually appealing, only 4 episodes long and lots of colour photos exist, plus having the Final Test as an extra all freshly zizzed up like new would be nice.
Bottom of my Hartnell animation wish list is The Crusade. It would be nice to complete season two but out of all the MEs I think it works exceptionally well on audio and of the 4 episodes I think the two in the archives are the best of the of the bunch.

Evil and Masterplan .. I think two big sellers might lead the BBc to commission more and Dalek Stories are more likely to be bigger sellers (not just appealing to fandom but to Genpop who might buy for nostalgia or brand recognition)
For Personal choice Id love Toymaker or Myth Makers

If I was organising the animated releases, the scope and ambition of the Dalek story would make it a priority as it could be animated to a whole different “space opera”level & given the epic box set treatment it deserves. I would include Mission to the Unknown & The Feast of Stephen. Bags of special features. You could really go to town & negotiate the inclusion of the remake of Mission to the Unknown (& possibly Mr Levine’s b/w animation as an extra). Pure fantasy I know, but as has already been shown anything is possible & there is undoubtedly a market for Dalek adventures. In fact, let’s go I stage further & why not revisit Terry Nation’s never made stand alone Dalek series in animated form?

Within the parameters set (as Marco Polo would be at the top of my list) I would be glad to see The Celestial Toymaker animated. The reason is its such a surreal and entertaining story. I just got Fury on Blu Ray and its magnificent. I felt we have been doubly robbed having also missed out on The Nightmare Fair. It would be so great for all of these 26 (?) incomplete stories to have a formal release. My kids just don't have the patience to listen to the narrated audios or telesnap recreations.
Wouldn't it be great if it could be released alongside an animated version of the Nightmare Fair using the lost stories Big Finish soundtrack?

'The Celestial Toymaker' is my Hartnell choice to be animated. I think for the type of story that it is, a cartoon version would work perfectly.

I agree with you as long as they don't embellish things like the Macra Terror animation did. Having the Macra as 9'(?) crabs works with the animation but it's jarring when compared to the live action.

I'm far from being a fan of THE CELESTIAL TOYMAKER but I think that the best candidate for animation. Its storyline and imagery would likely best suit an animated approach for visuals anyway.
Personally, I'd prefer either THE MYTH MAKERS or THE SMUGGLERS but I don't think that would happen.
I also think THE SAVAGES is a story that deserves a larger and newer audience...

I'm a fan of leaving the big sellers until the end, when they've really nailed the character design and movement. So that'd rule out Master Plan and Marco Polo.
It'd be great to see The Smugglers but I suspect there are tricky shots in there and it might be a later one.
Galaxy Four would be a great fit as the Chumblies would relatively straightforward, there's a limited number of sets, and lots of reference material etc. It'd mean they could really focus on getting the hero characters right, which would help future animations a lot.

I tend to agree with you here Richard. My additional worry to your one is they get all the big name stories out and then the enthusiasm for doing some of the remaining ones disappears. I'd like to think I am wrong in that statement, but just to be on the safe side, let's save some biggies to the end! I hope we do get some official confirmation on what they are working on (outside of Web 3) soon. Just that article in the mirror about Evil and Abominable way back at the end of August. I go back to a comment I made maybe on here or another site - they have 2 different companies doing animations, why not have 1 focused on finishing Troughton and 1 on Hartnell? Seems odd to get 2 different styles for the same Doc.

I hate to be negative but there are some glaring and glowing red flags about this article. 1. It's from the mirror. They have reported numerous times about missing ep discoveries ranging from the omnirumour to the entire classic series being off air recorded in america to completely unfounded and unfruitful odd episode anoucments that never came to anything. Need more evidence? Take there reporting on an evil and abonimble snowman animation last year that nothing has been heard about since. (that terrible youtubers "concept sketches" are not proof either it just shows at some point some graphic designer some where was having a go at drawing daleks....not that they were commissioned for anything) yet we have heard of snowmen's younger brother getting animated and it was announced officially with a trailer not through a note passed to one of the rag mags. 2. The content of the Article. It says zilch about the production of the animation, where has the money come from(joint venture with bbc america for television like power, fury and terror or funded by the dvd and blue ray range like they used to be like tenth planet, invasion ice warriors ect) or which studio is involved. The majority of the article is plot synopsis and an explanation of why the episodes were missing in the first place. Nothing about the actual animation supposedly being produced. 3. Lastly the quotes. The comment quoted are by peter purvis and 100% true.......but also several years old they were made at a convention ages ago where he basically said he wished instead of the galaxy 4 ep being returned he wished it had been a massacre or savages ep as they were much more his stories as opposed to this which was written for a different actor. The point being they haven't spoken to anyone new about this release either an original actor asking how they feel about it being recreated or anyone involved in the animation process. I love the animations so please don't take my negativity as any lack of love....quite the opposite I'm sick of having our Hope's raised by lazy journalists on a slow news day, we deserve better. If this gets officially announced in the short term proving this article right. I'll be thrilled but I think I'm more likely to get lucky on the lottery
