Just watched a documentary on youtube Peter Noone & Hermans Hermits "A Life in Music" and at 8.54 they show a colour clip of "Oh You Pretty Thing" I've never seen a clip of this song before does anyone here know what show this comes from its great quality, unfortunately, the whole clip isn't on youtube. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuojinVBizc

Never seen that one before, hoped that Bowie might have appeared on piano as he did on the (lost) TOTP performance, but like the version in the "The Genius of David Bowie" BBC4 compilation (where is that one from incidentally?) it's just Noone himself.
The interview with Noone that precedes the clip above is interesting though; I hadn't heard before that when Bowie played piano alongside Noone on TOTP that he wore the TMWSTW dress. I guess there's not even a still photo of this performance in existence?

Great clip and interesting interview just prior to it.

Good question. Did he perform the song on ‘They Sold a Million’ (25-02-73). Peter Noone is a great interviewee! A genuinely nice guy too.

If it existed at the BBC they'd have repeated it by now almost as often as they do the Starman clip... so it's safe to say it doesn't. I suppose someone else might have it somehow but I think it's more likely that Popscene is in error (although it's usually accurate about such stuff.) There's a thread on here about an audio recording existing, I don't know if Popscene could've got their wires crossed somehow? missingepisodes.proboards.com/thread/5455/peter-bowie-audio

Peter C; Peter Noone did it twice on TOTP, so could be either one of the performances.

Peter C; Peter Noone did it twice on TOTP, so could be either one of the performances. According to Popscene the 10/6/71 performance was just a repeat (it doesn't say when it was repeated from, but presumably 27/5/71 since the only other time it was played was to crowd dancing on 3/6/71.) But then again Popscene could be wrong about that too..

‘Whittaker’s World Of Music’, 29-05-71. Thanks, Peter hopefully quite a few of these exist from what I've seen the quality is great with a good selection of pop acts.
