If it does turn out to be a missing Morecambe and Wise episode I hope the BBC can release it along with the previous two recovered episodes on DVD. Don’t forget the episode that was already in the archive too. It would be nice if more of the decomposed print could be scanned. Maybe one day...

I see the item got positive feedback from the buyer, so this was more likely to have been genuine! Excellent news that he has more!

As somebody has mentioned above, Paul Vanezis spoke about this when asked about missing episodes during last week's Fantom Events Zoom chat as an example of the fact that things are still turning up out of the blue.
As far as I remember, Paul mentioned that he'd been in touch with the seller, who was unaware that there was such a thing as missing M&W episodes and was trying to sell off the last 30 or so film cans belonging to their late father, who had been a film collector.
Kaleidoscope had apparently purchased the print and were liaising with the seller about the contents of the remaining cans, so maybe Paul or Kaleidoscope will be able to give a further update in due course...

I'd go for that ,especially if they colourise and vidfire the surviving section of episode 6 that we already have in B&W on the boxset (think it has already been colourised as I'm sure there is a clip on an M&W documentry)

This is what we must be aware of. Say - wet finger in the air - that the father died in his 80s. He might have started collecting in his late 20s or early 30s, possibly in the late 1960s. B&W telerecordings were being cleared out in the 70s as colour came in. Who knows what they might have acquired - like the DW MEs returned from Australia. They go to the great projection booth in the sky and their executors find a pile of film cans......

Out of curiosity, when could we get news on this?
I assume that behind the scenes there is probably a lot going on.

If it is Kaleidoscope that have this it would be a great way to restart their Birmingham events when they are able to after Covid.

It’s the sort of thing Auntie would be interested in for Christmas if colour recovery is possible.

This came from Chris Perry at Kaleidoscope directly to me. He is a close personal friend.
