Hi, first post. When I was writing my book on Guy Standeven (Who's That Guy? The Sometimes 'Kniightmare' Life of an Unknown Actor) and looking into his credits on IMDB it was obvious that he did a lot of episodic television that has not been repeated or made available on DVD. How does one actually find out if these episodes/series or missing or not. Examples include Saturday Night Thriller (Where is Betty Buchas?), Beryl's Lot, So it Goes, Menace, Trial and Brett.

Yawn!
You don't have to pay unless you want detailed information (£5 for a month's access)
if you want to know if something is missing or complete it will tell you for free

In the free form what is does not tell you is the episodes that survive.
So if you see a list of missing episodes of a series you must check the date of the one you are after, as if it is not on the list it may be indeed survive.

I'm certainly not paying for this service. Rather than saying “thank you” to someone who has answered your query within minute of you posting, you decide to answer with this. I’m sure you expect people to pay for your book when it’s published? But you don’t wish to pay for any information that goes in it? Kaleidoscope do a lot of work for free, so £5 for a months access is an absolute bargain for the goldmine of information.

You are correct. I should have said, "thank you but I'm certainly not paying for this service". The book is already published but I was making this initial query with regards to a future addition. My place of work (a secondary school) allows me free access to many websites such as the British Newspaper Archive so I'm always reluctant to pay for such sites. I may make an exception in this case as I'm at home.

The first reply wasn't a marketing ploy.
