I've been watching the Renown DVD of the 1954 film, starring Shelley Winters, John Gregson, and Peggy Cummins. Adapted by Peter Rodgers, and Directed by Muriel Box, it's a pretty good watch. Nice to spot Alfie Bass, Nicholas Parsons, Charles Hawtrey, and Joan Sims among the support. Given the plot, the US title of Cash on Delivery is funnier.
There were two TV productions, both missing:
ITV Television Playhouse (AKA London Playhouse (15 March 1956). IMDB only list:
Diana Decker Diana Decker Hubert Gregg Hubert Gregg Veronica Hurst Veronica Hurst
as the cast.
The other was:
Brian Rix Presents...To Dorothy a Son. (11 April 1966).
Cast (in credits order) Brian Rix ... Toni Rigi Elspet Gray ... Dorothy Rigi Yolande Donlan ... Myrtle La Mar Basil Lord ... Taxi Driver John Newbury ... Second Taxi Driver Terrance Denville Terrance Denville ... Landlord (as Terry Denville) Leo Franklyn Leo Franklyn ... Dr. Bell Sheila Mercier Sheila Mercier ... Nurse Rest of cast listed alphabetically: Diane Appleby ... On the telephone Hubert Cross Hubert Cross ... On the telephone Kerry Gardner ... On the telephone Peter Gray ... On the telephone Helen Jessop Helen Jessop ... On the telephone Dennis Ramsden ... On the telephone Derek Royle ... On the telephone. Jerry Stovin ... On the telephone
Which could be more helpful!

To my surprise, I've discovered that the first BBC screening of the film was in the year 2000.
