Whilst contractors dug down to create a space for the new inspection pit they across some items buried in the dirt. Items found included parts of an old railway line, a small coffee cup, and a green bottle. The coffee cup, is blue and white, engraved with the letters GWR and apart from a broken handle, is said to be in good condition. Staff say they have no idea how old it is and how long it has been there. www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/18841802.local-history-unearthed-xelabus-depot-eastleigh/Phil Morris, eat your heart out!

Hey they found my stuff! I was wondering where I left them. Not quite the tomb of Tutanchamen, but a very good second place. Too bad "Animal, vegetable, mineral?" isn't on the telly anymore, or they could have entered these items. Then again, that program is almost as old.

That 'GWR' thing has reminded me of the Goons' Quartermess adventure, when they find a subterranean tomb incribed 'Minardor'! Might the "piece of railway track" have been used as an anvil? www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lMqec7laqM
