This was down to a faulty power supply (component failure) in the TV rather than the type or model, emitting severe interference on AM, both back down the overhead mains supply & by direct radiation. This manifested in severe erroring, overloading the error correction on the broadband services and making the dynamic line management wind down the broadband speeds to, in effect, nothing.
