Sky Arts is now available on Freeview. Last Friday was the start of a new series narrated by Guy Garvey where he focuses on one particular year and plays music from the vaults of the regional ITV studios (eg Alright Now, The London Weekend Show). Most of it hasn't been seen since originally broadcast, and even then they probably weren't shown nationwide. The 1st episode (1979) had 3 songs by Kate Bush from a Manchester concert which was recorded but never shown! Also featured was Echo & the Bunnymen in their first TV appearance when 'echo' was still their drummer (from What's On). Also from What's On were The Teardrop Explodes and Joy Division. The bad news is that hardly any of the songs were complete and included GG talking over sections. Would this be deliberate? www.prolificnorth.co.uk/news/broadcasting-news/2020/09/guy-garvey-dips-itv-music-archive-sky-arts-series
