Last night on yesterday I just caught the end of the first edition of the second ‘carry on’ TV compilation series ‘what a carry on’ and it was distributed by Carlton international (now ITV studios global entertainment) & was broadcast on the BBC many times over a course of 20 years from 1984 to 2004.if Carlton originally distributed it do all the clips from that series from all episodes came from all the ‘carry Ons’ made by the rank organisation did as their archive is owned by ITV? There were two other series ‘carry on laughing’(1981) which was credited as a Thames television production with their skyline ident at the start of each show but did not finance the show and transmitted to the ITV network & ‘laugh with carry ons’(1993) also shown on ITV but it was broadcast by the channel as brought in material.all these series only mention who was in the films in all the series but they never mentioned the clips from what films in any of the 3 series. Was ‘laugh” only showed the earlier films made by Anglo amalgamated and distributed by lumiere pictures who held their archive at the time? They did another movie compilation show at the same time called ‘laughing gas” which showed all the EMI owned comedies and was shown on ITV too.any information on these series and what films they showed on each episode would be much appreciated.
