Blink before you miss it @ approximately 41 minutes 25 seconds, it's future Doctor Who PETER DAVISON with the long sideburns.

Wow- I've never seen the 15th October show all together before. It looks so great and I notice the credit 'Colourama by TeleVictor Ltd'. Interesting that some elements of the show's visual effects were handled by an outside company. Very good they are too! Watching this and the other b&w telerecorded editions it's hard not to lament the 45+ shows that year which are lost.
I've never fully understood the reason for the existence of TOTP recordings with the presenter in vision but with the feed from the mic muted (although the studio ambience can still be heard). I can't see what purpose this serves- how would these recordings have been used? And why retain them at the expense of the final broadcast version?

Steve I think it was for certain exports where the local host would be mixed over the 'say' Tony Blackburn link. Stopping tapes cost time and money so if everybody knew what they doing they could produce a continuous running programme apparently hosted by the local presenter... something like that anyway.

Joe Berger, the presenter of the German show Hits A Go Go, did a link from the TOTP studio for King Crimson's Cat Food in 1970. It's now been quite effectively colourised to my untutored eye: www.dailymotion.com/video/x7rrvxh

Yes it is Richard, also during the Dave Clark Five performance standing/dancing at the front of the stage is Mixed Blessings star Christopher Blake.

No I've not seen all of those snippets either. One existing performance not included is The Marmalade:

The Marmalade performance only survives because it was repeated in 'Pop Go The Sixties' 6 days later. Here's the full show:

Anyone else think this is Lewis Collins enjoying himself to the left?

Anyone else think this is Lewis Collins enjoying himself to the left? Not sure about Lewis Collins but he's been previously compared to Alan Partridge and a BBC purchase ledger clerk.

Looks like the TOTP videos on ok.ru are now not available. Let’s hope it’s temporary rather than a full scale takedown

There has been some debate on whether or not the dancer is the late Andi Rutherford of Pan's People.
