When the Time Meddler was recovered there were some bits that were reinserted from Blue Peter! That's The War Machines you're thinking of, not The Time Meddler. Oops! I sit corrected, itโs much more comfortable than standing corrected ๐

Oop hello. Yes, I've stuck the next one out. The YT one is now slightly edited (for reasons) www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHTcO0JUcqQ& and the full one with the silly sketch and slightly improved linking music is available on podbean and will soon ping round all the usual platforms. itunes is here podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/doctor-who-the-missing-episodes-podcast/id1507481141Sorry it's taken so long. I confess I'm not fully back in the swing of things, but this is a start. To answer the question about what we cover: anything with episodes missing and anything with episodes recovered! So we did The Time Meddler and we've recorded The War Machines despite both being ostensibly not missing. The recovery stories are fantastic.

Thanks both - very kind.
The War Machines will be along next month-ish - and that contains what I think can safely be called the most detailed account of film bicycling yet recorded, and a potential explanation of why Wheel in Space wasn't in Jos. So hopefully something to look forward to!

So hopefully something to look forward to! Thanks, Tim. Is it known for certain that WIS wasn't in Jos when Phil visited? Phil mentioned that a video tape of 'something' went walkies with WOF3. But does that item being a VT rule out it being Doctor Who, as all the episodes were sent to Africa on 16mm? An episode of Out of the Unknown (The Chopper) was sent overseas on VT (according to a DWB compendium), but I've not heard (so far) of any Who on that format going to Africa. Looking forward to the podcast anyway, cheers.

Too many unknowns to be sure though. I don't remember PM saying it was specifically a tape that went missing, but then I don't personally believe his account of the disappearance of Web 3 anyway. All B&W DW was sold to Africa on 16mm, yes.

choices were made during the period - lots of stuff that was aimed at older and elderly people (plus your Sir Humphrey types) has survived better compared to say, comedy and popular music shows.

Episode Thirteen of The Doctor Who Missing Episodes podcast, with Steven Schapansky (Radio Free Skaro) and Jon Preddle (Broadwcast.org). The War Machines! This is certainly one for anyone who's interested in film bicycling and how certain stories ended up being sold overseas. Hats off to Jon for all his dedicated research. Enjoy! linktr.ee/missingeps_pod
