A salute to European TV for making and having the only surviving clips of these groups..
Austria. .Quite mad but my goodness they did try.

The two German phrases on screen in the clip translate as 'STRENGTH THROUGH JOY' and 'ALWAYS COMPLETELY NATURAL'.. the latter phrase presumably not in reference to The Paper Dolls hairdos!

Thanks to Beat Club's precious and irreplaceable archive, we can enjoy the rare UK freakbeat monster "Cold Turkey" by Big Boy Pete:
..and this pop-psych outing "Gingerbread Man" by The Mirror (the drummer's definitely enjoying something lysergic!)

I can't believe that a contemporary girl group ... (as far as I know) ... has'nt covered "Something Here in My Heart" as in my opinion it is a very catchy song and would surely be a hit.

Ah freakbeat brilliant!punk before punk, I always thought The Buzz: 'you're holding me down' would have been a televisual treat.

I love this european tv performance from Esther Ofarim. Completely nuts!
Shame she never released this version of 'The Beat Goes On'. Apparently it was just for this tv special....

Beat Club once again comes up trumps with performances (the only ones I can find) of these two superb songs:
..and apologies in advance for the appearance of the Hairy C***flake at the beginning:
From French TV there's this, and ok - the song's pants but it's a fun performance anyway although she looks like she could be one of the TOWIE (The Only Way Is Essex) bunch now!
