Intro by Philip Morris about his world wide searches for lost Beeb recordings.
Sadly the BBC website fails to mention any of this.

Yes.
Great to see it on air again. It's actually a repeat from Boxing Day last year. I produced and directed the intro with Mike and Phil, and graded the actual episodes.
I think that we can forgive the BBC for not making 'a song and dance' about it!

Maybe, just maybe someone will have found an audio of a lost M & W episode recently. (giggle....)

Maybe, just maybe someone will have found an audio of a lost M & W episode recently. (giggle....) But all the missing BBC audio was already found?

I think that we can forgive the BBC for not making 'a song and dance' about it! Paul One detail I only noticed from the recovered colour version - in the faux Irish pub scene, the etched glass bar backdrop was "modified" to avoid any hint of advertising on the BBC. The 'E' in 'Jameson Whiskey' is scratched out and a well-known stout that is claimed to be good for you is now called 'GUISSENN' !

Are there any plans to release these two found episodes on DVD?

In total there are 4 out of 8 episodes, and slightly abridged audio for everything else.
However I am including the desintegrating film then, of which only a few bits have been restored experimentally.

Does anyone know if any more of the experimental restoration of the film has been attempted? (Cutting into cubes & scanning?)

Shame, it’s really promising as a solution of last resort. Perhaps a whip around with M&W’s fans might help
