...for some reason the NFT and I have never been easy bedfellows. They always seem to do their best to make me as unwelcome as possible, either at the ticket desks in person or trying to order tickets online.
This year's problem - I buy tickets for both sessions of MBW online, and only after adding them both to my Basket and completing the order (for PDF print-at-home tickets) do I find at the bottom of the page for session 2 that there was a combined ticket with session 1 available - whereas I paid the individual prices together and the website didn't warn me, nor could I find any link subsequently that would show me how to order the combined tickets.
So, anyway, what's done is done, I decide to forego the discount as a donation to the BFI, but the problems don't end there - I get no e-Mail of the PDF tickets, the only option seems to be to print an 'Order Confirmation' which I can well imagine when I get there I would be told "oh no, it's not that, that's something else. It should be a Ticket." Except visiting 'My orders' and seeing my ticket purchases there and clicking on them doesn't reveal a ticket, neither does clicking 'More information' which just goes to the programme information pages. Going to the 'Tickets' menu at the top of the screen doesn't reveal my tickets either, it only lists contact details for buying tickets.
This leads me to think that purchasing online was a mistake and I could only get the discount by phone, and I'm going to have to phone anyway to ask where I get the PDF tickets from?
Seriously, MBW is almost the only thing I go to at the NFT due to previous bad experiences, and every time the ticketing purchasing system(s) always seem to have multiple, but different, quirks every year. It's no wonder I don't try more often, as I feel everyone else connected with them is just "supposed to know" "how it works" but us mere mortals are obviously assumed to be too thick and therefore are not offered any decent clues without having to beg for them.
