I really hope your dedication to the F&J cause is rewarded sometime soon with a 16mm episode or two turning up out of the blue. Did anything come of the rumours of reel to reel home recorded audios? In my experience, trawling “collectible” type shops turn up reels, when we were on holiday in the Peak District last month I bought a Grundig TK14 from a shop in Belper. The reel in it has an as yet unidentified TV play / film, so you never know what might turn up.

That recent trove from a certain BBC SF series was on its way to the landfill, from what I understand.

You are quite right, in the past I’ve been as guilty as the next person of wiping & re-using tapes. Back in the 70’s & 80’s I preferred reels to cassettes and trawled second hand shops for tapes to record over not realising the possible historic value of the original recordings. Other folks just binned old tapes.

No need to thank me for simply posting a sad fact of life! I have once considered contacting the blind and vision impaired to trawl for audio, but it did not seem practical.

Hi Richard, I don't know if anything became of the reel to feel home recorded audios?...hopefully someone on the forum can answer that question?
