I have found a tape that contains a few episodes of "The Impressionists" hosted by Barry Took. They date from the late 1970's, as President Carter is referenced.
Does anyone know the archive status of this series? Are these of any interest to anyone?
The quality is okay (not perfect) but very listenable to, and hard to tell how much of each episode is there.

No idea of the archive status but like many Radio 2 shows of the period they've had virtually no repeats. It ran from 1974 to 1988. I'd certainly like to hear them please. I've a few recordings myself and have briefly included it this show on my blog. Barry Took presented the 70s editions and for the rest of the run it was Ray Alan "by kind permission of Lord Charles" as the radio Times billing always read.

BBC Sound Archive claim to have 7 eps from 1981 (4.6-16.7), 12 eps from 1979 (20.6-5.9), 12 eps from 1978 (6.8-22.10) but only 2 eps from 1980 (2.7,6.8) and 3 eps from 1977 (8.5,12.6,3.7). However, as Andy says, we haven't had much chance recently to hear them. BBC7/4Extra only seem to have played one episode from 13.5.1986.
