Has anyone else been faced with this error when trying to get on this forum from the site homepage? It only seems to happen from my home, not from my workplace or from my phone. I managed to get through when I realised I could just type the proboards address directly into the browser, but I've always done it via the site homepage for years, so wondered what's changed, and if it's just changed for me. At first I thought it was Virgin Media playing up, so I tried tethering my PC to my phone but the same thing happened.

Had no issues at all recently. Sounds like a glitch with the PC. Have you done a hard reboot? Apologies if teaching grandmother to suck eggs👍🏻

Think I've had it a few times. Always gets my paranoia working! (It's that 'refused' bit).

Hasn't happened to me in some time, but it used to do so fairly often. I agree with Richard's suggestion. It sounds like your pc is the problem. Besides a hard reboot some updating might help. Have you updated your operating system recently? Might be some kind of compatability issue. Updating your browser might be helpful, too. Can't hurt either way and might address the problem.
If you use/have several browsers on your pc you could also try opening the site using each browser to see if you have the same problem across the board or not. Might help narrow down the potential issue.
my apologies, too, if I am suggesting things that you already know.

Try right clicking the link from the homepage and opening in a new window...

Yes, that works! Thanks Paul - perhaps the homepage should try to open it in a new window if not doing so...doesn't! It did used to though, on the same browser. Maybe the W3C Standards have deprecated another useful feature again.
