A thread purely for fun. I am a big fan of experimental electronic music. If anyone else is interested in this.............. well I thought I would start a thread for sounds that could easily have been in 60s who. Folke Rabe - What?? (Imprec368) - Droning electronic soundscapes from Sweden 1967 Arne Nordheim - The Nordheim tapes (ACD5051 2) - Norwegian radiophonic sounds from the 1960s Else Marie Pade - Electronic works 1958 - 1995 (Imprec 406) - Danish radiophonic sounds Gottfreid Michael Koenig - Acousmatrix I - II (BVHaast 9001/2) - German electronic music from the 50s and 60s The above suggested a fairly radiophonic workshop sound to me. I have a tone more of this stuff if there is any interest

Likewise, electronic music is one of my life's
passions. Having seen them at the Barbican in London earlier this week, Tangerine Dream obviously spring to mind. These days, each gig concludes with an improvised set combining an incredible mixture of modern & vintage sounds...and obviously some of their 70s material fits the experimental bill perfectly.

Oh we have got to have a bit of Joe Meek on this thread...A B side from 1962...You have to ask what the hell is actually playing on that ?

The Peter Thomas Sound Orchestra would have been an interesting choice. Here's his theme for Raumpatrouille Orion, often referred to as the German Star Trek...

Here's a couple by little known electronic composer Frederick Judd. From the little I know about Judd, he didn't record much, but some was released by library music company Studio G; I have the original vinyl of the LP pictured in this youtube video. I got it for a quid in an old record store in the early 90s. This used to be a favourite for playing at 3am............. and another number from Judd, which I think is a far earlier recording: Both sound like they could have turned up in 60s who though imo

There's a CD called Electronic Music It started Here that has a lot of early electronic music from the 1950s - 60s.

He provided the atonal electronic sounds which acted as the musical score for Roberta Leigh and Arthur Provis' 1962/3 puppet SF series Space Patrol.

On Judd, there was a CD of his stuff put together a few years back. I am not quite sure of the story behind it. I was looking to put out a similar CD if there was enough material extant, but found someone had already done it F.C. Judd - Electronics without tears (PUBINF003CD). Judd really did create some interesting electronic/ concrete sounds.

Just to keep it going - came to prominence in The Prisoner, Roger,Roger's 1950s rather beautiful effort ( with whatever it was don't think it was a Theremin) as the theme of the last season of Out of The Unknown.
