In light of this news and as a matter of interest...which 2 episodes would you folks like to see returned the most? I'd go with Power 1 and then a tough choice between Evil 7, Master Plan 12, or Fury 6. Often seen people state their favourite serials, but I can't really remember a similar question pertaining to individual episodes. Evil 7 (because anymore Troughton with Daleks would be fantastic) and either Savages 4 or Master Plan 12.

To float the fringe theory, Jan 2017 there floated a rumor that two Hartnell's were located.... related? Lol.
I hope one is DMP, but any one is welcome. My hope is DMP 12 & EOTD 7.

I would be happy to see anything that diminishes the number, but I would join the apparent consensus that seeing the resolution of a story is preferable to being left hanging!

Yes, it's well worth a listen. In it, Paul confirms that he knows of a collector who has 16 mm film cans with labels indicating that they contain two missing Doctor Who episodes, one of which may have come from the 1975 return from Australia, but the other definitely not. Paul has not examined the contents so he cannot confirm whether the films match the cans. In light of this news and as a matter of interest...which 2 episodes would you folks like to see returned the most? The 1975 returns would include: Galaxy 4, The Myth Makers, The Smugglers, The Tenth Planet, The Power of the Daleks, The Underwater Menace, The Moonbase, The Faceless Ones, The Evil of the Daleks, The Abominable Snowmen, The Ice Warriors, The Web of Fear, The Invasion, and The Space Pirates. Non-1975 returns would include: Marco Polo, The Reign of Terror, The Crusade, Mission to the Unknown, The Dalek's Masterplan, The Massacre, The Celestial Toymaker, The Savages, The Highlanders, The Macra Terror, Fury of the Deep, and the Wheel in Space. The question really is: which two would you want from each group? A lot of you who answered Luke managed to keep to the rule anyway! Don't know if that was intentional or not. For me I'd want Four Hundred Dawns (Galaxy4 4) from the first group, and The Destruction of Time (Masterplan 12) from the second.

I'm boring in that I'll be happy with absolutely anything - but I did want to say that I think that the audio find from Desmond Briscoe's collection (An Unearthly Child as a magnetic recording from the original videotape) is a really nice thing to have come to light.

With regards to which two episodes we would ideally want recovered another vote goes to ' Masterplan Episode 12 from me. Purely because Sara Kingdom's demise sounds absolutely harrowing on audio, looks just as tortuous via accompanying stills and is quite possibly the darkest 'Who ever got in the sixties. Would be great to see that footage. My second choice would be anything from The Space Pirates just to foster a 'greater appreciation' for those diminutive, pseudo hot pants Wendy Padbury wore in the story! Priorities people. Always priorities.

My picks would be Myth Makers 4 and Massacre 4 - to see Vicki's departure in the former, and Hartnell's "They're all gone" speech in the latter, and to get some visual footage of two stories for which we have almost nothing.

Any two: I would pick Power1 and Evil 7. One from each list I would pick: Power 1 (key episode - got to see the Doctor adjust to his regenerated body for the very first time - I'd be surprised if no one tried to nick this one back in the day) and from the second list I'd pick DMP 12.

There is one question that never seems to be asked ... Is there a reason why these two films have not been given to you? The usual reason for letting someone know that you have a highly sought-after item is that you are hoping to trade a copy of it in return for (a copy of) some item equally sought-after. So if I was a UK film buff, who happened to have a print of, say, 'Daleks Master Plan' ep 7, I'd be looking to use it as leverage to prize a copy of 'Power of the Daleks' ep 1 out of the group of Australian fans believed to be in possession of it. And, obviously, that might take a little time. But, obviously, it might be a good idea, since it's almost the only way of crowbarring an item like that out of a group like that. Hypothetically speaking, of course. Needless to say, I haven't got a print of episode 7, as that print was never made, but if I did have something like it, that's the use I'd be trying to make of it.

I can confirm this.
Before the internet, I had traded cassette recordings (!) of "The Beatles' Christmas Album" for things like the complete recordings of The Beatles on "The Ed Sullivan Show" and the British version of The Rutles movie. (You have no idea how hard it was to get a hold of things like these in the early 1980s.) If you wanted my copy of it, you would need to offer something comparable in its value *to me*.
