Meanwhile here is a bit of Ayshea and famous (then) kid's dog Fred Barker in colour.

Well lets all hope that it does make the final "cut" of the documentary. If it does, then i think it will be major news, as the jean genie recovery was a few years ago. I have to say, I have a bit of trouble accepting the lift off digitization story . I have a memory of reading about 10cc looking for early 70s footage in the late 80's. They stated that their first TV appearance was on lift off, but unfortunately the master tapes had been re-used??? who knows?? Granada did have good habits regarding archive, but maybe lift off was an early casualty?

Well, someone I know was trying to find the first series of "Pop Quest", apparently some of the episodes were unobtainable. Which is odd - you'd think they would either be all saved or all junked.

Roy Woods appearance on Pop Quest was uploaded on to Facebook earlier this week. Looks great but good GOD that presenter. Mr. Yewtree anyone??

Looks like the missing TV performance referred to is 'My Death' from the Russell Harty show. The Lift Off footage is a bonus if it comes off. WOW!

The missing Lift Off performance we're talking about - is it part of the "Kaleidoscope recovers a huge haul" stash or something else?

That digitisation error, it it genuinely happened as reported, seems fairly extraordinary. Are we aware of anything like that having happened before with TV archive material? I have a vague memory that perhaps an EastEnders episode was junked in error during archiving to D3? Just to be clear, I thought it was agreed that the lift off junking story was just Ayshea being EXTREMELY out of the loop and not understanding that this was common practice. She complains about being cheated out of "repeat fees" which she didn't seem to miss for 40 years but a few years ago got upset about because she didn't understand what she was told.

I think this is Fred Barker's first appearance on Youtube, and he's just as rude as I remember him. Who did the voice?

Yes, it is Basil Brush. Or, if you prefer, it's Ivan Owen, the voice of Basil Brush.
