Don't lose all hope on seeing the originals, it's quite possible that two of them are out there. I remember reading on here that a few years back, there were a load of Dad's Army films for sale by a collector near Brighton. A member on here tried to buy them but was beaten to the punch by another apparent collector who snagged them. Paul vanezis was made aware of this batch but was too late as well. Paul stated it's a possibility that the batch could have contained 2 of the 3 MEs. Not trying to stir the pot, just saying that I find comfort in thoughts like this

I suppose it's a matter of opinion if that makes things better, or worse.

Better than deteroriating to the point of total ruination in a garden shed somewhere. That's irreversible. At least a hoarder (if it's being hoarded) could have a change of heart, or an unwary person informed of what they possess. But yes, it's a double edged sword for sure.

Deteriorate it probably will, anyway.

i am still, over 4 plus years later chasing the missing dad's army episodes. i am aware of a collector who has these pasb. its tracking them down thats the issue, the person not the episodes.
i don't like posting about this as it leads to speculation, however, its a heads up that the hunt goes on...

Good stuff, Brian. It's nice to know folks are still looking.

I'd like to say though that despite my prejudiced expectations I ended up thinking the remade episodes were very well done.
