I was referring to standard 8mm film recordings (16 frames per second) or from a 1950s home telerecording kit, which allowed enthusiasts to make 16mm film recordings (25 frames per second) of television programmes Bloody interesting but wouldn't they have had scanline and geometry problems a la the Dr Who 8mm clips or was there some way of sorting this out? I'd say, though, it must have been an expensive set-up, which would have limited the number of potential recordings out there, none of which have surfaced. Then again, if there were recordings made, it is quite possible that they survived because the film couldn't be reused...

Who says 8mm 50s film recordings don't survive. I've got two examples of these.
