These CD box sets seem to be out of stock or in very low quantities at retailers such as Amazon. As with some of the Torchwood audio dramas I assume this is due to the demise of AudioGo aka BBC Audio in late 2013 or perhaps a move to non-physical formats? (The licensing rights to 5,000 non-BBC titles transferred to Amazon.com-owned Audible whilst Random House Audio reached an agreement with BBC Worldwide to take over the rights to the 3,500 BBC titles)

It was the demise of AudioGo in late 2013. Amazon was last stocked in late 2013 when AudioGo crashed.

These have been available on and off since the late 90's as single releases, I'm glad that I got them when I did. I think I missed The Savages for some reason but I have the recon so I am really missing nothing. In fact I even picked up "The Ark", "The Tomb of the Cybermen" , "The Invasion" an I think but cant remember for sure "The Tenth Planet" as well on audio. Still have them un opened in the box

You should try to track down the collections, they've remastered them to their full extent. Also The Macra Terror had new narration by Anneke Wills in Collection Four but that one is really rare so I track that one down often.

The best BBC audios have to be the Dr Who at the BBC collections.Really entertaining and so evocative of all the periods in Dr Who's history,as well as being narrated by Liz Sladen.I listen to them often.A great mix of news items, documentaries and comedy spots that span the show's original 26 year history and beyond on TV and radio.

I agree with the last post. The last release with Louise Jameson was also excellent. Wouldn't mind a follow up at some point....

The Doctor Who at the BBC have some interesting stuff on them. I like the untransmitted radio bit with Jon Pertwee and Elizabeth Sladen. Perhaps these will also turn up no the new Blue Ray releases as they come out as extras

Having them already re-released in the 50 Years of Doctor Who at the BBC Boxset, I think it wouldn't matter...but that set is now rare because of the AudioGO crash.

Indeed. First one is already out, next one due in September, suggesting a six-monthly schedule. Straight reissues of the previous box set releases, but in Prevex stacker cases.

This is bad news in a way. Both Amazon-owned Audible and Penguin / Random House Audio issued the 60th Anniv. box set of the Navy Lark. The quality of the recordings were lousy and lo-bit. Having bought the CD with the promise of lots of rare added extras for downloading these latter were then all withdrawn. And downloading from Audible for off-line listening never worked (for me). Also Audible customer service were next to useless in advising what to do.

They're also appearing on Audible, which is really good news for us that use Audible as it makes them very cheap to buy and easy to access. Richard

let the BBC make some more money off of them before many of them get the animation treatment. . . ?
