Hi, I've part of a what I assume is a BBC radio session, where the Spencer Davis Group duet with Alan Price (pluse Set presumably) on a cover of 'Don't Mess Up A Good Thing', originally done by Fontella Bass. Since Stevie Winwood is singing the appearance must be early '67 or before, but I wonder might anyone have any info (or even remember) on what programme it could have been? The SDG themselves did a version of the track for the BBC and it exists, but it isn't this one. Any info appreciated!
Hi Stuart and good detective work, I usually find stuff like that via my own searches but failed miserably! That show would certainly seem to fit the bill, as most of the other stuff on the same tape comes from 'Saturday Club' too. Thank you!

the alan price set willow weep for me / don’t mess up a good thing (last one with SDG, 2mins35secs) the spencer davis group till the end of time / gimme some loving mike felix also guested.
I did check that Saturday club where they both guested but Price was a repeat from a previous broadcast (quite unusually) and only his interview was new plus the songs didn't match anyway. Easy Beat did not list guests in the Radio Times after a point (1965-ish) so doesn't help when you're searching BBC Genome.
if you ever find any Johnny Kidd, The Creation's BBC session or Little Richard from 63 or 64, do let me know - all right near the very top of my "hope someone taped them and kept them in any sound quality" list
