I don't deal with the financial side of the club so I'll drop John an email and see what he says. Are you UK based ?

Yes indeed. Based in the UK. I don't deal with bank cheques etc, but I would certainly purchase a years subscription if I can pay via paypal. I have been meaning to check it out for ages!

Likewise, I would be interested in subscribing if PayPal were an option - I haven't had a chequebook for over a decade now. Paym would be another good alternative as all the major UK banks support it...

I've contacted John. He doesn't use Paypal but says a UK Postal Order for £12 will be fine for those who no longer use a cheque book.

Hi Graeme, I will look into getting a postal order. I don't think I have used one though since the late 80s or something You should get John to set up PayPal, it really is the height of convenience; very secure, very fast and people can pay you without leaving the house by just a couple of clicks and no private information. It really is very convenient. I will see about a postal order next time I am near a post office

I completely agree with all above. Paypal would be far more convenient, and suited, to me. Like with many people, cheques and postal orders are methods of payment I no longer use.

cheques have there purposes but the old days of taking a check book out of the house is long past for me . I am in the USA and I still use them for the odd bills that don't take on line payments (believe it or not my water company, sewage company and garbage company all do not take on line payments). The water company does not even accept debit or credit cards if you pay in person at the office. A box of cheques lasts me two to three years
But pay pal makes life so much easier, yesterday with out getting up from my terminal I in 10 minutes I bought something in the USA, Australia and the United Kingdom with Pay Pay, no hassle, no credit card frees and no waiting for the cheque to fly across the ocean and then wait for international bank clearance's.
I have not used any international or domestic money orders since the 1980's

I have not used any international or domestic money orders since the 1980's It sounds like ORCA are still living in the 1980's with their cassette lending library, cheques and postal orders. The Post Office charge a 12.5% fee on postal orders, so a £12 P.O. would cost £13.50, plus another 65p to post it to the payee. The world has moved on to a digital age, and as nostalgic as Missing Episodes members may be, I'm sure the majority of us have embraced the twenty-first century - or else we wouldn't be using an internet forum...

Hi Simon. The cassette library is still held in Leeds, but for a number of years now the ORCA lending library has been on CD, mp3 CD, and mp3 audio dvd. Cheers ! Graeme
