This is good. This is good. This is very good. This is very, very good! This is a restoration of hope caused by good people. (My apologies--I'm just happy!)

This is really great. Glad to hear Steve had some material and it has gone to a suitable home, only wish Caravan's set was in there.
On another point, a question regarding the music in the title and closing credit (when the episode was short enough) sequences of the 1969 series - anyone know what the track is, commercial, library or specifically written for Colour Me Pop?
I'll reveal why I ask very soon!

Hoping these can be used if and when the article is finished. That's a good question about the title music: I've no idea. I could see if Stephen remembers.

Pleased to be able to say the target for this crowdfunder has been reached, due in no small part to a donation from Neil Innes himself: www.gofundme.com/bpzyb6as

Great news. For some reason it kept rejecting my card so pleased the target has been reached so quickly.
Is there any update on what was on the other canisters? Could there be more Bonzo material?

Apparently the other film rolls are outtakes from the filmed sequence of the various Bonzos at home that appeared in their CMP.. (maybe a roll for each member as they would have been filmed separately? just speculation there) I don't know how much of the material on the other films will differ from the material that has already been discovered, but it has the potential to be interesting.

The Beach Boys film from Australia sounds interesting. Is there any further news on this item?? It's a 40-50 minutes ish long presentation in colour: the first half is staged scenes of The Beach Boys taking part in some crazy Monkees style antics as they arrive in Aus, set to a selection of hits and album cuts. The second half is a live performance indoors in some kind of supper club environment.

I believe Reelin' in the Years have some footage of The Beach Boys in Australia - it could be the making of the above programme... or the programme itself.

Another find from this collection announced today by Chris Perry:
DISCOVERY 138: Colour Me Pop - The Orange Bicycle tx: 26.7.1969 BBC2. The majority of this edition was in the studio and was not kept. However, one of the recent cans donated to Kaleidoscope by Steve Turner reveals filmed inserts for the episode. The sequences were silent but Kaleidoscope has managed to add sound to two of the three, thanks to the notes kept by Steve Turner. 16mm colour film.

I've located on YouTube the existing fragment from the episode featuring Trapeze (TX: 5/7/69) when they performed at Club Lafayette, Wolverhampton. It was shot on 16mm Film as opposed to VT, so it quite odd how only this clip managed to surface and not the complete episode, even-though this episode was entirely done on Film (due to the technical limitations of OB equipment at the time), it's chances of survival would have increased.
