A review in Punch said the first show "contained two over-long sketches, each on a hackneyed theme, which should never have been offered to us without a great deal more preparation... I felt, too, that the use of ad-libs such as "We didn't rehearse this bit" is unforgivable". The series was performed live and no recordings were made, but from internal paperwork we know that one show at least contained a Japanese Judo expert and 5 Cowboys!
