TV will eat itself at the next Kaleidoscope event at The Talbot Hotel, Stourbridge which will be all about the subject of TV On TV. There's lot's of television related programmes, some unseen for 50 years or more, that will lift the lid on what happens both on screen and off screen. Our guests will be Roger Bunce who will tell us all about his time working at BBC Television Centre and Peter Fiddick who many will remember from the Westward series The Television Programme. I hope you'll be able to join us and raise a few pounds for the RNLI. More details about the line-up can be found here: bit.ly/1AkiIYf

Have you found out what you're showing at 4.15 before the money programme's extract on the 1967 ITV franchises?

We are planning to show the Crossroads Reopened interview programme that was shown on Big Centre TV's opening night at 4.20pm.
There may be one or two late changes to the schedule on the day.

I'd like to thank tony currie & everyone at kaleidoscope for another brilliant event.my highlights were the ABC of ABC,inside Granada focusing the travelling eye,the television programme examine quartermass 4,the RTS/LWT LE showreel of 1970 & the entertaining electron. I got a surprise when I got off in Crewe this afternoon & there was tony on the same station as me! Tony & I were on different trains at the same time. He said that the next event will be in Walsall at the big centre tv studios.is it not far from Birmingham? when was 'meet Judith Durham' first transmitted on LWT?

Was "The Television Programme" solely about Quatermass? And did they give any clue to where the radio telescope scenes were shot?

Sorry for the delay in replying.
Christian
Meet Judith Durham was orginally shown from memory on 26 August 1970. Good to meet up with you at the event.
Richard
The Television Programme was not all about Quatermass, the subject of the programme was Style and examining amongst other things different opening titles of programmes and how they influence us (various examples shown). There was also a longish interview with Piers Haggard. Not sure about the radio telescope scenes, from memory the OB scenes shown were filmed in North London.
