Just to update things - a number of inserts from The Great Western Musical Thunderbox exist; these seem to feature Adge and the Wurzels predominantly; they are are all at the NLW. NO COMPLETE PROGRAMMES EXIST, BUT.... this is good news, isn't it! This would explain the excerpt on the HTV show as mentioned above.... That's brilliant, Ray. The generally excellent Wurzelmania site www.wurzelmania.co.uk/gig-tv.php lets itself down on Thunderbox, viz.: "The Great Western Musical Thunderbox Described as a 'hay bales and banjo orgy' (!), this HTV series showcased a range of folk and Scrumpy and Western bands on which Adge Cutler & The Wurzels made at least one appearance, and probably more - as did Fred Wedlock, and Steve Ashley (Albion Band). No details available, but footage has been used in later programmes about Adge and The Wurzels (see above)." |

Are these the same as Paul's "A while after I discovered that some 35mm film inserts featuring Adge and the Wurzels, catalogued as an unknown programme insert must in fact be the inserts from 'The Scrumpy and Western Show'." mentioned upthread? If so, is there a chance that they might be listed and ascribed dates? |

(also Thunderbox was video taped, not on film) |

While I cut and pasted about the Scrumpy and Western, I was still thinking 'Thunderbox'.
Bloody stupid names...
(Everytime I read 'Thunderbox', I think of 'Sword of Honour).
