Thanks to the Genome project,I've discovered who was in the missing BBC shows from the seventies: 28/3/1971 Lord George-Brown.(sic). 19/9/1971 Harold Wilson. 10/10/1971 Hugh Bishop. 7/11/1971 Vic Feather. 14/11/1971 Brig.Sir Bernard Fergusson. 2/9/1973 May Homms.
But does anyone know anything about the 1979-83 Channel TV series with the same name? Such as who it featured? 25/29ths are missing...

Nice one,Simon. Some of those would be very nice.Muddy Waters.Noele Gordon....I think that there may be reasons for believing that Channel Television might have untapped archives...Though I could be wrong! It always seemed like a pig to Google."Results for 'Channel Television'"!

This is a puzzle.Lostshows has the following surviving: Episodes 1 and 2 1979. Episode 6 1979 or 1980. Episode 21 1981 or 1982. But here's Dave Allen on 'A Chance to Meet' dated on the film 25/8/1983. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJ32B74HC_o The last episode listed at Lost Shows is 11/8/1983-though there's nothing to stop later episodes being known, and therefore missing from the list.Except that the four shows above are also missing... Added: I really should have checked...They've also uploaded: A Chance to Meet...Arthur Lowe 27/3/1980,Telly Savalas 1981 (rather than 1979.A repeat?),and Jasper Carrott 10/3/1982.

John, I have amended the original list above to show that Arthur Lowe and Jasper Carrott are not missing held on digibeta. My slip-up apologies.

Channel television made each edition of 'a chance to meet' 10 minutes long & they showed it at the time the rest of the ITV network @9pm & later on @10pm when they were showing a party political broadcast. How did channel showed that instead of the PPBs?

How did channel showed that instead of the PPBs? Christian, good questions, though I don't know what the answers are,Since you mention that they were 10 minutes,I notice that Simon's list, posted above, has a few which are specifically noted as being 15 minutes. Conscientious record-keeping by someone!

As posted elsewhere,Channel have recently uploaded the 24/6/1981 Muddy Waters episode, making me even more hopeful that the complete run exists.
