Thanks Jon, for that nice analysis.
Given how many clips there are from Power 1, it's interesting to think of how much might have been recorded of that first scene, prior to editing. Though parts may have been out of focus or shaky or not centered perfectly, how nice it would be to have had the unedited segment(s).

If I could be permitted a bit of pedantry, Richard is correct in noting 1973 - that was the year the Kodak Ektasound system for Super 8 was launched. Recording magnetic sound on regular 8 in camera was possible in 1962 - this being the Fairchild Cinephonic 8 system. Here's a 1969-expired Kodachrome regular 8 film from my collection.
