Not to mention Ozzy Osborne's hit.... 'Ecstatic' by Bright Sunday "Started with my woman and she really helped me with my mind, People know I'm happy because I am smiling all the time!" Nice one Tony! Much of the Black Sabbath back catalogue would need a re-write to achieve airplay on PC FM.

Barry McGuire 'On the Eve of an Enlightened Democratic Society'. Have we had a mention of the Stones having to sing 'Let's Spend Some Time Together'? Or Dylan having to drop 'Talkin' John Birch Society' on TV? And what about the alternate lyrics which were used by Max Bygraves for 'Fing Ain't What They Used T'Be'.The single and the Royal Command (?) performance dropped the lines about: Once in Golden Days of yore Ponces killed a lazy 'ore But fings ain't what they used t'be. www.theguardian.com/stage/2014/may/22/fings-aint-wot-they-used-t-be-review-theate-royal-stratford-east-london

Good points John. Much of the Black Sabbath back catalogue would need a re-write to achieve airplay on PC FM. ....they'd be going through 'Changes'....

In fact...surely in the original version the mum is on the child's side? "We don't want you gettin' a belt from your dad" in effect.

'Fings ain't what they used to be' is a great example of a song that wouldn't get out of the starting blocks now regarding airplay. check out some of the other verses too.
I also understand from a BBC insider that due to recent events a certain "Fred" has been arrested regarding allegations of activities said to have taken place in the early sixties with seven little girls on a back seat.

Surely the ultimate PC song for today would be by The Beatles: "Happiness Is A Warm Bum".

I hope not Colin! But Tony Orlando could have a career revival by updating his songs to suit the times: "Text three times on the 3G if you want me (Twice on the Skype, if the answer is no....)"
