Hi, can anyone please help 1) identify, and 2) advise existence of a programme from my vague childhood memory. From about 1976 concerned an old man/tramp who lived in a rubbish tip. He argued with a couple of binmen(?) who visited in a large van. As they drove off their van sent the old guy flying. After a second visit the van knocked him into some type of swamp and he sank. Prog ended with his young friend looking for the guy, who had of course disappeared (roll credits). Sounds odd, but would love to know what this actually was. Shown evening time, prob one-off on ITV. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

This must be a toughie, over 130 views and no sugestions. Any idea where else I could look? I tried posting at The Mausoleum, but I use TV internet and my on-screen keypad goes blank for some reason. Could some kind person please copy and post my query there? Thanks very much to all.

Unfortunately not, as I was only about six aor seven at the time. I can still see the action quite vividly in my mind, but no real faces to identify names.

Thanks for the note William, but I'm certain this was not a comedy, nor a sketch, but an hour or 30 min drama. Struggling to recall, there was only the one old guy, his friend did not live in the dump also, but was a younger man who only visited to help him. At the end he was searching for the old man and calling out his name.

I've registered at The Mausoleum, but had problems posting messages. Could anyone post this on my behalf? I've seen some Catweazle, William, but they were more humourous, the prog I recall was serious. (Although most TV seems serious to a six year old, this one did have a grisly demise, and I'm sure it had an evening slot).
