Excellent : now I just someone to explain why the version included on the K-Tel album "20 Dynamic Hits" in 1972 only has the choir singing one verse, (not including the Softly Whispering I Love you verse!) with all other verses instrumental only : no lead vocal at all. Was this an alternative version circulating at the time? Or were K-Tel too mean to pay for the proper version?

I've always thought that was an accident by K-Tel - my copy has a sticker on the back saying it's an instrumental version, which makes me think they didn't realise when they originally put the LP out.
And who is that playing guitar on the TOTP performance? It doesn't look anything like Alan Parker - you would have thought he'd have been around, as he was also one of the guitarists in the TOTP orchestra at the time!
Great work on finally reuniting the audio with the picture, Paul!

Great work from paulsupanet however if there was ever a good example of why miming should of been allowed to continue that was it. Wonderful songs ruined by awful audio.

Nice to marry these two elements back together again (I hope the same can be done with further TOTP material where the sound is mute)! As the audio is pretty reasonable already, it could sound even better with a bit of clean-up and EQ.

Hadn't realised that I'd missed a track off the 09/12/1971 list, I've added it to the list in the first post - it's good to know that it matches a mute clip Does anyone know why that clip was silent? I can understand muting the DJ links, but a whole song? Anyway, next one is up 17/10/1968I've tried to even out the sound, but the dog is still rather ear-piercing towards the end. Excellent stuff Andrew, great to hear these lost gems

Have you had any luck transferring any of the others Andrew?

Have you had any luck transferring any of the others Andrew? Not yet, I got distracted by new tapes which sounded a lot more promising than they turned out to be (ho-hum). Are there any other songs listed that could match up to mute visuals? I'd personally give a higher priority to transfer a song that would 'complete' a clip, but if there aren't any then I'm open to suggestions on where to start I still haven't uploaded the other 1968 episode, so I'll do that in the next couple of days.

I don't think there are any more on the list. from a personal point of view, i'd like to hear The Move-Night of Fear. I know you've listed the 27/07/1967 as v.poor but they might be some others to start with as the visuals exist but the sound on those are poor too.
