The actual figure quoted by Michael Grade was £150 *by 2013* - it's not going to go up to that next year! In any case, what always happens is that the BBC asks for a licence fee increase and it gets less than it asks for, as in all negotiations. Mind you, don't get the idea I'm not 'for' or pro BBC. I think what concerned me was the media quotes on what Mike Grade was saying about repeats. We're all aware of the absolutely superb quality of most of the shows. We're also keen to see them again in some form though! As a correspondant said its tiresome just to see a small circle of re repeated items all the time i.e. 'Dads army' and 'porridge'. I'm absolutely sure the audience are intelligent enough to appreciate Marty Feldman and Milligan (for example). I'm also, despite the tone of my posting title, not really trying to be political, just concerned that the voice of some viewers is fully acknowledged.
