I'd guess TOTP has been suspended to at least when the subject of the Cliff Richard investigation has been finished one way or another! Cliff Richard is still being played on BBC radio so I see no reason at present why BBC4 would not show him on TOTP79. The silly censorship of the past two years needs to be challenged anyway - I am hoping this attempt to besmirch Cliff will backfire even more than it already has.

I presume that DLT's conviction, on one count of sexual assault, means that the BBC will now destroy all material they have in which he appears? In fact, I'm off to check that my copy of Convoy GB has not spontaneously combusted while my back was turned ... The 13/09/1979 episode is DLT, so next week they're skipping to the 20/09/1979 episode with Mike Reid. Sadly it means we will miss seeing the following: 13-9-79: Presenter: Dave Lee Travis (17) SISTER SLEDGE – Lost In Music (and charts) (26) NICK LOWE – Cruel To Be Kind (24) THE COMMODORES – Sail On (video) (23) FRANTIQUE – Strut Your Funky Stuff (danced to by Legs & Co) (2) GARY NUMAN – Cars ® (27) SECRET AFFAIR – Time For Action (30) GERRY RAFFERTY – Get It Right Next Time (video) (9) DOLLAR – Love’s Gotta Hold On Me (32) SQUEEZE – Slap And Tickle (21) JOHNNY MATHIS – Gone Gone Gone (with Gill from Legs & Co) ® (28) U.K. SUBS – Tomorrow’s Girls (1) CLIFF RICHARD – We Don’t Talk Anymore ® (14) THE STRANGLERS – Duchess (and credits) There's a great episode by episode listing here - TOTP episodes

In fact, I'm off to check that my copy of Convoy GB has not spontaneously combusted while my back was turned ... I presume that Paul McCartney's 1973 conviction for growing cannabis, and Mick and Keef's 1967 conviction for drugs, means that the BBC will never show any footage of any of them, ever.

Sky+ last nights episode, broadcast without the usual BBC4 logo. A mistake or are future broadcasts to be without the logo? As for the 13/9/79 DLT episode, am I correct in thinking that Secret Affair and UK Subs studio performances were unique to this episode? I wish the BBC could collect all the unique studio performances that they weren't able to broadcast and create another "Big Hits 1979" compilation.

I would also like a best of compilation from editons they couldn't show.
Yvonne Elliman's performance of If I Can't Have You was one performance I was please to see featured in the Disco compilation.

Sky+ last nights episode, broadcast without the usual BBC4 logo. A mistake or are future broadcasts to be without the logo? I noticed that on last Friday's broadcast as well, (via Freeview HD although they are actually SD 720x576) I hope they keep it up!

Confirmed by the BBC - no more DLT repeats. linkOn Wednesday, a spokeswoman confirmed "the BBC will not show Top of the Pops repeats fronted by Dave Lee Travis". The spokeswoman added: "We will consider any other archive appearances on a case by case basis."

I recommend everyone who feels like this is manifestly unfair to complain, seeing as the BBC like to quote figures about complaints when it suits - not just using the BBC's electronic complaint form but by addressing the Director General's office. Just bear in mind it isn't the fault of BBC4 - Mark Cooper & his team are genuinely doing all they can to keep the flag flying and have managed to ride considerable pressure over the past 2 years. retardedkingdom.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/dlt-tko.htmlEven if you couldn't care less about DLT or the TOTP reruns, it does suggest there could be massive implications for anything in the BBC archive in the future. An online archive would be great - but will they play 'god' with that too? Can they be trusted if they behave as they have with DLT? ssl.bbc.co.uk/complaints/forms/?reset#anchor

I have just submitted my complaint on the BBC statement as regards the DLT hosted editions. I have pointed out that if the inclusion of Jonathan King in the Genesis documentary can be justified on the grounds that he played a "significant role" in the history of the group, then by applying the same argument to the history of Top of The Pops, the Dave Lee Travis fronted editions should be shown as he also played a "significant role" in the history of the show - Jimmy Savile even more so! I have also highlighted the fact that the 22/11/1979 edition only features DLT as a voice-over, not in-vision, so hopefully someone will pick up on that. Note that the complaints form only allows a limited number of characters, so I had to remove quite a bit of text before submitting!

I did notice that the Friday 00.30 episode on 4th October of TOTP was 4 minutes shorter, only running at 30 minutes, while the Saturday episode at 23.35 run for 34 minutes,i dont know what was left out....normally the late repeated episodes are all the full ones....
