I have greatly enjoyed your books Peter but would not have bought this one as I don’t particularly rate the DC5 compared to other bands of the time & do not like the arrogant narcissist that is Mr Clark.

Hi Peter, The Red Lion pub at the end of the video may well be The Red Lion pub Sunningdale Berkshire ? Situated on London Road. The pub closed in the early 1970s and became a restaurant. One of the girls seen outside the pub is actress Carol Dilworth of The Golden Shot, who was the fiancée of the singer Len Chip Hawkes of The Tremeloes. I think you may well be right William. The whole thing looks like it was filmed on a glorious summers day in 1969.

At the end you see actress Carol Dilworth wife of Chip Hawkes and mother of Chesney. They all have their wives with them: Len and Carol Hawkes, Alan and Lin Blakley, Rick and Lynn Westwood, Dave and Andree Munden. Andree Munden sadly died last week. Lin Blakley is a well-known actress these days, as is her daughter Claudie Blakley. I know that Alan Blakely and Dave Munden are sadly no longer with us but I am sure I read somewhere that all 4 Trems either remain/remained married to the women they married in the 1960s. Surely some sort of show business record there Peter?

I’ve seen plenty of RSG clips which are film telerecodings. Was any of it originally recorded on videotape?

I remember watching that on original TX - Magpie was always more "left field" than Blue Peter, who pretended Punk / New Wave did not exist. Shep was definitely a punk.
