not sure if I posted this on another forum but....
Carol Dilworth of 'The Golden Shot' TV show fame also had a small cameo role in an episode of Randall & Hopkirk Deceased (original ITC series) playing a young lady walking her dog who can see the ghostly Marty Hopkirk (Kenneth Cope)
Carol is credited in the closing credits

Re 'Paul Temple' - BBC screened it early sunday evenings and it was quite popular - however in his DVD interview Francis Matthews speaks of how the show was not looked upon too favorably by some of the BBC overlords who he felt considered it to be a bit 'too ITV' (!)
Paul was a snappy fashionable dresser - influencing both 'Jason King' and Roger Moore's Lord Brett Sinclair in 'The Persuaders !' - again deemed a bit 'too ITV' - Francis said later after his show was axed BBC supremo Huw Weldon spoke with him at a function and apologised for cancelling his show, so it seems Huw was not the chief culprit involved rather the combined BBC attitude was they didn't like doing a show that was more 'ITV' style regardless of how many regular viewers were watching
Francis added the show was even more popular across Europe hence the dubbed German DVD releases

Peter I see the Scottish TV 'Hear Here' show dates from 23-10-1981 and I recall Bob Benham was a member for that show however per wiki (often incorrect) it states Bob left the group in 1979 - is this another wiki error ?
somewhere I have a pretty naff converted from Beta to VHS recording of that show - with dreadful 'tracking' issues ! - and I believe they also did 'Twist and Shout' sung by Dave Munden out in front with Chip Hawkes playing drums (which surprised me back then) - Dave was wearing a light coloured leather waistcoat with no shirt if I remember correctly
I will try to locate the old VHS tape and see if I can confirm this (it might be from another show of course), but I recall it as the Hawkes-Munden-Westwood-Benham four piece line up
Obviously you know this but CBS Special Products issued two singles of The Tremeloes with two other CBS artists as special offer singles
'Here Comes My Baby' c/w '59th Street Bridge Song' (Feelin' Groovy)' by Simon & Garfunkel which was a Pepsi Cola offer
'Even The Bad Times Are Good' (the album version - with; 'Go on Len 'ave a sing...!' intro) c/w 'The Clapping Song' by Anita Harris

There is at least one Radio episode of BBC's 'Steptoe and Son' that clearly has been 'patched together' from several different sources of recordings which each sound somewhat different but combine to restore a complete episode !

Assuming he was not brainwashed by the C.I.A. (which you can't 100% rule out !) I would say John Lennon's assassin was more just an insignificant 'nobody' who was desperate to be a 'somebody' making himself infamous as "the man who..." etc (tho' history has it appears rightfully largely forgotten him so it seems)
re private collectors, I don't think they are gleefully denying fans out of sheer malice but just probably have a large archive of works they have taken the trouble to obtain over time and understandably see as being their property which is true and we need to bear that in mind
- hopefully some might allow BBC to make copies of episodes they hold in the not too distant future but no one has any right to demand they do, and any 'annoyed' fans insulting / belittling such collectors by assuming their mindset are hardly likely to change their minds are they ?

Hope it's one with that guy running along the car park (which Francis Matthews hated as everyone assumed it must be him !)
I recall Spike Milligan as a postman calling at Paul's open door with 'Paul' running (through the car park) towards him
Spike saying;
'Mr Temple, letter for you'
Paul replies; 'Coming...it's all right I'll get it Stevie...'
- Spike begins running too (on the spot) saying; 'We'll meet in the middle...!'

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the 'Graveyard' intro (complete with Marty's voice explaining that only Jeff could see him) - which includes the final part of the graphic intro re the Dennis Spooner and Monty Berman credits - was used on the UK episodes however the later 'Graphic' intro in full duly appeared on the latter episodes in the run - which ties in with the idea that later on everyone knew why Marty wore an all white suit etc...
Later ALL episodes were re-edited to feature the 'Graphic' opening only - possibly this was done as both the show was already established by then and it might have been viewed as a wiser option to go fully with the 'Graphic' opening as some might have later begun complaining re the intro in a graveyard being seen as disrespectful (you will always get someone moan !) so to play safe they quietly made the switch over to just the 'Graphic' intro to avoid any such issues later arising (?)

From fading memory of those 80's Channel Four screenings The Beatles song performances (mimed) were;
I'll Get You Twist & Shout (I think) It Won't Be Long Can't Buy Me Love You Can't Do That I Feel Fine She's A Woman Baby's in Black Kansas City / Hey Hey Hey Hey
no doubt there were more...
also on the show;
Paul had to judge the 'Brenda Lee impersonator' girl out of three girls from the audience as Brenda's 'Jump The Broomstick' is played
a rather bored John interviewed by Keith Fordyce trying to be funny (and failing) referring to his new book as being by a 'Literary Lennon'
George being interviewed by guest compare Dusty Springfield who called him 'gorgeous George' !
and Ringo getting a quick chat with Keith Fordyce from behind his drumkit
the lovely Alma Cogan goes as if to bash John with a placard she is holding when he introduces her latest record as by 'Alma Warren' ! - they then have a friendly chat whilst the songs is played...

BBC announcers always made a very clear point of saying; 'now it's BOSS CAT !' - in case we mistakenly thought the theme song was singing about 'Top Cat' and the fact the cats all referred to him as 'TC' - when of course it was 'BOSS CAT' (not the cat food ITV advertised)
we kids all knew him as 'TOP CAT' anyway...
